Our destination is the Gulf of the Farallones, which is a national marine sanctuary located off the coast of north-central California. The waters within the sanctuary are home to numerous habitats supporting many threatened or endangered species of marine life.
You’ll learn about marine life from San Francisco Bay to the Gulf of the Farallones. You’ll see whales up close and have sightings of a variety of other marine life. You’ll be on the lookout for seals, sea lions, porpoise, dolphins and sea birds as well.
We recommend that you dress warmly, with waterproof outerwear. It’s a good idea to pack whatever food and drinks you’ll want for this outing as well.

San Francisco Whale Tours booth at Pier 39 is located just past the Hard Rock Cafe and next to the Biscoff Coffee Shop. Look for a small booth with a whale on top. (Open in Google Maps)
Dress for extremely cold temperatures with waterproof clothing if possible. Gloves and hats are recommended. Comfortable non-slip shoes are recommended for the boat. Don't forget your camera. Seasickness medication is also recommended.
