Enjoy the best of both worlds! Spend the morning in Muir Woods National Monument sauntering among the redwoods, then an afternoon of wine-tasting in Sonoma. After a night in Sonoma, the tasting tour continues, taking you to the wineries of Napa Valley.
What to Expect
Start the morning in Muir Woods. One of the last virgin redwood forests remaining after 150 years of logging, the woods are living monument to naturalist John Muir, who played a major role in establishing the National Park system. Spend an hour walking in the serene shadows of the world's largest trees.
Next on the agenda, the history, craft and science of wine-making, and the art of wine-tasting. What better place to begin than Sonoma Valley, where California wine made its debut over 100 years ago. Visit a winery specializing in sparkling wine and take a guided tour through a winery (dependent on availability) to learn about the art of wine-making. As a pleasant day draws to a close, you'll spend the night in Sonoma, where accomodation is booked.
A new day! On to Napa Valley to enjoy even more tastings. The tour, taking you to select wineries, will focus on varieties of grapes, specialty wines, and wine-making styles, including size of operation. Savor in this well-rounded California Wine Country experience, and aquire a taste for new favorite wines!
