San Francisco Cable Car Museum

This live narrated 60-90 minute tour of San Francisco includes the most vibrant neighborhoods of the city, such as the Financial District, Chinatown, Nob Hill, and Embarcadero. Departing from Fisherman's Wharf, the tour covers all the major attractions of San Francisco during the evening hours, with spectacular views from the top of an original open top double decker Bus. Exact highlights may vary according to the season, weather conditions, and San Francisco's famous traffic, Chinatown, and Union Square, San Francisco’s shopping Mecca. You will also go to Treasure island, across the Bay Bridge, to get spectacular views of the skyline of San Francisco. Spend a morning getting to know the real San Francisco. We meet you near the Embarcadero, in downtown, before taking the cable car to Nob Hill, with its Gold Rush era mansions. From there, we take another cable car to San Francisco City Hall (or, on the weekend, the Cable Car Museum). After going inside this magnificent building, we take the historic streetcar to Castro, which is famous for its place in LGBTQ+ history. From there, it's only a short walk to Mission Dolores Park, one of the nicest open spaces in San Francisco. The Mission is really the birthplace of San Francisco, and you'll learn about it all, as well as experiencing a lovely corner of the city. Next, we take the bus to Haight-Ashbury, a name that's forever associated with the hippie generation and the Summer of Love. We'll give you a tour of the neighborhood, with its beautiful murals, before your tour ends at the perfect time, and in the perfect place, for lunch.

We finish the morning part of the tour in Haight-Ashbury, which is forever associated with the Hippie and anti-Vietnam War movements. By this time you'll be hungry, so it's the perfect time to pause your SF in a Day tour for lunch. After lunch we take you to see an icon of San Francisco - the Painted Ladies - at Alamo Square. Now, it’s time to stop at an establishment with a 45+ year history for a delicious slice of pizza that embodies an authentic North Beach experience! While we make our way to enjoy Italian Ice cream, we will see the church where Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio wed! Next, the family-owned shops and markets filled with Asian vegetables, spices, and fish welcome us into Chinatown! We will settle in the heart of the neighborhood and enjoy proper dim sum as we take in all the beautiful sights and delicious smells! Then we will see one of the first and oldest still-operating Chinese temples in the United States. This full-day tour offers an unparalleled experience of the Bay Area, taking visitors to some of the most picturesque and iconic locations in the region. The tour begins by crossing the Golden Gate Bridge to Marin County, where the first destination is the Muir Woods National Monument. Here, visitors will be able to see the giant redwoods on a self-guided visit. After that, a stop is made at Muir Beach Overlook on the Pacific Ocean, and then a quick stop in the bayside town of Sausalito for lunch on their own. Lunch recommendations will be provided by the guide. On the way back to San Francisco, another stop is made at the Golden Gate Bridge overlook. In the afternoon, the tour continues with a 2 to 3-hour city tour of San Francisco, covering some of the major sites. The route can be customized to include visitors' choice of stops such as Fisherman's Wharf, Union Square, Presidio, Golden Gate Park, Twin Peaks, Chinatown, Lombard Street (traffic permitting), Coit Tower, and North Beach (“Little Italy”).
