the day was incredible. I met lots of great people. the guide seemed very pleasant. he cared about the people that were with us, I just can't speak Spanish. the water falls were incredible and the one lake was so much fun. kayaking to the little island with our group was a blast.

Full description

This 12-hour tour takes you from San Cristobal de las Casas in the morning to Lagos de Montebello. Head first to the Chiflón waterfall, a natural freefall of water surrounded by reeds and palm groves. Next on the itinerary is a visit to the Montebello Lakes in a nature reserve that is Mexico's most beautiful lake district. The reserve comprises acres of pines, oaks and rainforest where, weather permitting, there will be the opportunity to enjoy views of the many lakes and the varying colors of the waters. After visiting this picturesque natural environment, the tour returns to San Cristobal de Las Casas, arriving in the early evening.

We were a little hesitant about booking a trip here as some of the reviews made it sound like a very long day with lots of stops at lots of different places making it laborious. However this trip was very well run. Right amount of time at El Chifflon for us to climb up, zip line down and enjoy the park. Then we were driven to one location in the lakes where we were able to see 3 lakes, and do a raft ride across one which was stunning. We then went to another location where we crossed over the border to Guatemala and visited a market All in all a long but very enjoyable day
