The experience as a whole is fantastic. But towards the end we took a 90 min detour to drop ppl off to Tuxtla (we were staying in San Cristobal). These ppl were picked by another van. So we wasted 90 mins of the day dropping ppl who should ideally have been dropped by the other van.

An enjoyable day boating on the spectacular Sumidero Canyon, followed by visits to three lookouts to see the canyon from above. Prompt pickup at our hotel, return at time promised. The only caveat is that the tour was advertised as a maximum of 12 participants, but the boat excursion was with 50+ passengers.

The pick up was an hour late without any communication, which was frustrating as we could have grabbed a coffee or something instead of just waiting in the dark. The driving was a little crazy, but that seemed to be the case in the whole region. The trip itself was really great. They provided an English translator that gave us information on the boat as well as a personal walking tour in Chiapa de Corzo. Canyon was beautiful. Look out points were cool. Had an amazing buffet lunch at a local spot in Chiapa de Corzo. The logistics just could have been improved.
