What people are saying about Salzburg

My family and I visited Hohensalzburg Fortress on a rainy Friday. I booked tickets the day before with GetYourGuide. We parked our Honda Pilot in an outdoor lot on Petersbrunnhofstr. €15/24hr maximum. We walked up and around the base of the fortress, stopping by the active abbey Nonnberg. The chapel is dark and reverent. Continuing around the base of the fortress mount, we veered away from the castle to arrive at the ticket counter for the funicular railway. No issues with showing the confirmation on my mobile phone. We took the rail up the mountain and followed the signs to "A", where we got audio tour handsets for each person. My children ages 10, 8, 6, and 5 loved this portion of the tour. The audio tour options were based on age, and were very well done. This tour is highly recommended. This tour is not wheelchair accessible in my opinion.

The view from the fortress ist just gorgeous! The musicians were talented and the pieces very pretty. Since we went at 8.30 one tends to get quite tired during the last pieces but it was very upbeat music in the end and kept that lack of concentration to the end at a minimum. I would definitely recommend this trip super affordable and a nice Visite. I went with my grandma and she loved it!

The driver was very knowledgeable. The salt mine was fun and interesting. The kids really enjoyed the mine slides and sampling the salt brine. However I don't feel like the excursion was worth the price. I would recommend driving up on your own and pay at the salt mines.

This fortress is a must when one visits Salzburg. Going up early in the morning by funicular is recommended as you would have the opportunity to enjoy without the crowds and you can enjoy everything at your own leisure.

If you have 2-3 hours free time to spend in Salzburg don't hesitate to visit that attraction and you will not regret. Buy the tickets online for your convenience and get up to there
