The Tour is an excellent way to get to see many of the important features of Salzburg. Perfect to do soon after arrival for the first time in Salzburg. Our guide, Anabelle, was informative and amusing and encouraged questions. A very good two hours.

Begin your walking tour in Kurgarten, only a few steps away from the magnificent Mirabell Palace. Your expert guide will lead your group of up to 25 participants to the ornamental Mirabell Gardens and show you locations where 'The Sound of Music' was filmed; a must-see for every fan of the film. Head to the historic Old Town, admiring the views over the Salzach River along the way. Pass Mozart’s former residence and Mozart’s Birthplace at the notable Getreidegasse street. See the university church Kollegienkirche, and wander around the Residenzplatz, home to Baroque landmarks such as Salzburg Cathedral and the Residenz. Get the chance to see hidden gems such as the Mariensäule fountain in Domplatz, the Sphera (Goldene Kugel), and Kapitelschwemme in Kapitelplatz. Be taken to the best spot in the Old Town to see the hilltop Hohensalzburg Fortress from below.

  • There is no luggage storage for extra clothing, umbrellas, bags, scooters, etc. Pets are not allowed.
  • Free entry to Mirabell Gardens. The gardens are partially closed in winter, so it’s best to visit in spring, summer or autumn. For guest safety, in the event of extreme weather conditions (such as snow), we will offer an alternative route to the gardens. From 21.11 to 05.01, you will have a chance to visit a local Christmas Market instead.
  • Public squares in the Old Town can get very crowded during special events such as musical performances, festivals, etc.
  • We're not afraid of sun or rain, so the tour will take place as planned, regardless of weather. Please check the forecast and dress appropriately. We recommend wearing comfortable shoes.

Annabel is very knowledgeable about the city even told us about how some areas were used in The Sound of Music which we loved hearing about. I don't there is a question about Salzburg that she could not answer! We visited a confection store which offered handmade Mozart chocolates which were the best! We benefited by Annabel's tour in that we circled back to the areas we were most interested in.
