Full description

Climb aboard a bus in Salzburg and make your way to Hallstatt. Admire the breathtaking Salzkammergut passing through picturesque towns such as Fuschl, St. Gilgen, Strobl, and Bad Goisern. Arrive in Hallstatt, considered one of the most beautiful lakeside villages in the world.

Enjoy free time to explore the town. Choose to walk along Lake Hallstatt, visit the museums and the famous Bone House with over 600 skulls and bones, or take a funicular to the skywalk platform.

On your way back, take a different route for more striking scenery, passing by Gosau and Abentau before arriving in Salzburg. Join the original Sound of Music tour and relive your favorite scenes from the classic musical, following the traces of Julie Andrews.

Discover filming locations around the city while your guide provides historical background on Salzburg’s top attractions and architectural jewels.
Take advantage of photo stops at Schloss Leopoldskron, known for the famous boat scene, and at the authentic Sixteen Going on Seventeen gazebo.

  • Please note that there will be NO time visiting the salt mine in Hallstatt!
  • If you wish to do the Skywalk, please make your own arrangements and allow 1 hour for this activity
  • The Bone House has seasonal opening hours
  • For disabled guests/ wheelchair users: except for the Salt Mines Tour and the Eagle's Nest Tour, all tours are wheelchair accessible.
  • Your wheelchair must be foldable, and you will need to be able to get in and out of the coach or minivan by yourself (1-3 steps)
  • Please note those Hallstatt sights as listed are not part of our tour.
  • Therefore, any attraction to be arranged on spot also considering the opening time during off-season.

what a terrific tour! we saw all the places advertised and heard some terrific stories along the way. our guide Kylie was brilliant, as if she was born for the job! the fun and entertainment on the bus between locations really added to the atmosphere and helped make the tour really enjoyable!
