What to Expect
Take a comprehensive tour, linking the historic city of Salzburg and the natural beauty of the surrounding countryside in the Salzburg Basin.
You will start the tour in beautiful Salzburg, where in the course of 1 hour you will take in the city's ancient monuments, learn valuable information about local traditions, history, and culture, and see the places linked to Austria's greatest composer, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The start point is on the Mirabellenplatz. The tour runs over the Staatsbrücke to the baroque Old Town, and as far as the Leopoldskron Palace.
After this you will visit the beautiful Salzburg basin, where royal hunts took place, and where the Austrian Emperor Franz-Josef took his summer holidays with his family. On your way to St. Wolfgang, you will pass the Fuschlsee Lake, where you will have a wonderful view of the eponymous Fuschl Palace.
In addition, you will have the opportunity to marvel at the gothic altarpiece by Michael Pacher, and to take a short rest in the famous Weißes Rössl Hotel. In St. Wolfgang you will climb aboard a boat to travel over water to St. Gilgen. The picturesque village is the birthplace of Mozart's mother (this part of the tour takes place from the 1st May to the 26th October). After a detour to the Mondsee Lake, you will return to Salzburg.
