Full description
Learn how to prepare an original Austrian apple strudel. During this class, you will be guided by your experienced chef. Each class will have a maximum of 15 people, and will be broken down further into tables of 2 to 4 people. You will be asked to fully partake in all the stages of the preparation. Activities such as marinating the apples and stretching out the pastry can be a lot of fun, and the whole experience of making the strudel is guaranteed to be as rewarding as enjoying the final outcome itself. While the apple strudel is in the oven, every class member will be invited to do their own Salzburger Nockerl. It is a local sweet and a must-have if you visit the town. In addition, it will be served a tasty goulasch soup which will be served before you get your own cooked creations. The lessons are an unique lunch option after your morning tour or before your afternoon activities.

This was well worth the cost. A nice introduction to cooking 2 different dishes and you eat both as well, along with a nice bowl of soup. I will be trying these recipes at home. The teacher is quite friendly and well organized. The location is rather cute as well, simply cut into the rock (literally).

Cool experience, I'm curious if it works just as well at home. The cook had a somewhat hectic manner, which personally stressed me out. If the time is too short to explain everything to the guests in peace, then the course can simply last half an hour longer. Wouldn't have bothered anyone. We felt like we sat at the table longer and ate than we baked! I therefore find the price unreasonable: the course lasted approx. 45 minutes, the rest of the time (approx. 1:20 h) was sitting and eating. The price is absolutely not justified for a course that only lasts 45 minutes. It would also be nice if the recipes were printed out. Of course it's basically not a problem to download them on Facebook, but you might want to take a few notes during the course. An A4 sheet of paper printed on both sides with the recipes for each guest would be a great gesture and would certainly not prevent the guests from buying the recipe book with additional recipes on site (5€).

The food preparation was well explained and everyone was very well supervised. The activity was really inclusive and the great bonus was finishing off with a hearty bowl of soup followed by all of our cooking, at a communal table. It was great fun. Johann, the chef, was brilliant and pitched it perfectly. He was very organised and professional and very personable too. It was informative and fun.
