Full description
Learn how to prepare an original Austrian apple strudel. During this class, you will be guided by your experienced chef. Each class will have a maximum of 15 people, and will be broken down further into tables of 2 to 4 people. You will be asked to fully partake in all the stages of the preparation. Activities such as marinating the apples and stretching out the pastry can be a lot of fun, and the whole experience of making the strudel is guaranteed to be as rewarding as enjoying the final outcome itself. While the apple strudel is in the oven, every class member will be invited to do their own Salzburger Nockerl. It is a local sweet and a must-have if you visit the town. In addition, it will be served a tasty goulasch soup which will be served before you get your own cooked creations. The lessons are an unique lunch option after your morning tour or before your afternoon activities.

The food preparation was well explained and everyone was very well supervised. The activity was really inclusive and the great bonus was finishing off with a hearty bowl of soup followed by all of our cooking, at a communal table. It was great fun. Johann, the chef, was brilliant and pitched it perfectly. He was very organised and professional and very personable too. It was informative and fun.

One of our favorite experiences of the trip!

Johann was fantastic! My mom and I went to Salzburg for the Sound of Music and stumbled upon a little cooking class to do. It was easily our favorite activity of all the tours we did in Salzburg! The cooking school is seriously a little room in the side of the mountain, which Johann explained used to be the customs office into the city! He was the best teacher - he was very patient and funny, and really went into depth with how we could recreate the recipes at home in America - even with recipes we didn't cook in the class! Once we were done, we bought spices and cookbooks and strudel mats because of how much fun we had and how much we want to perfectly recreate our experience there! The atmosphere, teacher, and delicious food made for a GREAT afternoon! Thank you Johann for such a fun and unique experience in your once was customs room in the rock!
