Full description
Explore the heart of the city of Salzburg. Starting at Palace Mirabell, you will explore the sights here. The palace was built under the reign of the famous baroque prince Archbishop Wolf Dietrich von Reitenau for his mistress Salome Alt and their 15 children. At the Makartplatz, next to the Palace Mirabell, you will see the Mozart Residence. You will explore the New Town and this side of the river before crossing the bridge “Makartsteg” to arrive at the Old Town of Salzburg. While here we will get to Salzburg’s most famous street, the Getreidegasse, which is especially renowned for its wrought iron trade signs and Mozart’s Birthplace. Stroll through Salzburg’s Old Town to admire its historical buildings, such as the medieval apartments and churches that were built from the Middle Ages to the baroque time, and conclude the tour with a panoramic view from Mönchsberg Hill with a free guide (optional).

The guide was absolutely amazing! June showed us all the amazing little hidden gems that Salzburg has! She is ever so knowledgeable. You can tell she really loves the city, which is what made the tour even better. She really wants you to feel/see all the reasons why she fell in love with the city as well. She tailored the tour towards the key monuments we wanted to see since it was just our little group! I definitely recommend this tour to anyone wanting to enjoy Salzburg’s beauty as well as it’s history!

My wife and I signed up for a small group tour but ended up being the only people on the tour. Christina was our tour guide and was excellent . She is passionate about Salzburg and gave us a great overview of the city. Her commentary added so much to our understanding of the sites and history of Salzburg. We would highly recommend this tour.

Salzberg is a fantastic city, and u must have a guide. There is lots to see like the beautiful palaces, gardens and the history. One must not miss out the Sound of music tour. We had a very lively, jovial and extremely knowledgeable British guide by the name of David. Really enjoyed the whole trip.
