The tour starts at Mirabell Palace, which was built by Archbishop Wolf Dietrich in 1606 and now houses the city's government. The next stop on the tour is Mozarteum (university for music, drama, and fine arts) and the Salzburg Marionette Theatre. You will then see the State Theatre and Mozart’s Residence at Makartplatz. Here you will also see the Church of the Holy Trinity, a Baroque masterpiece built by the architect Fischer von Erlach.

After crossing the Salzach River, the tour takes you past the courthouse to Hellbrunn Palace, where you will make a short stop. The palace was built by the court architect Santino Solari in the early 17th century and served as a popular weekend destination for prince archbishops.

On the way back to the city center you can admire Frohnburg Palace and Nonnberg Abbey, the oldest existing convent in the German-speaking world. The tour then takes you back to the old town through Siegmundstor. Here you will see the Festival Halls, the Horse Pond, and St. Blasius Church before ending the tour at Mozartplatz.
