Visit the former residence of Hitler on a tour to the Eagle's Nest in the Alps. Transfer from Salzburg and cross the German border. Drive along a spectacular single land road. Travel in the golden elevator for a private tour of the building's main sights.
What to Expect
Pass Salzburg, cross the German border and continue into the Alps. Stop in Obersalzberg and switch to a reserved bus that will take you on a spectacular 6.5-kilometer drive along a single-lane road. The road was blasted out of solid rock with a 22% gradient that leads up to the Eagle's Nest (1,820 meters).
To reach Hitler’s former residence, enter a 124-meter long tunnel into the mountain. Climb aboard a golden brass elevator to ascend another 124 meters into the building itself. Your private guide will take you on a tour of the building and show you sights such as the room with the famous fireplace.
Get lots of inside information and anecdotes about Hitler’s legendary tea house. Soak up the panoramic views of the Bavarian and Austrian Alps. Before your return to Salzburg, take the opportunity to explore the picturesque town of Berchtesgaden.
