Our tour was with Panorama tour group with guide (and driver) Anne Marie. She was fabulous and gave extensive history of the sites as it related to the film and other interesting historical facts. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience and better weather. Since the pick up point is in the Thursday open market, it added to the experience. In the passenger van we adults all masked up. My young daughter (Age 3) was able to keep interested the whole time, only struggled the last 15 mins or so, which is remarkable after a four hour tour. I recommend bringing healthy on the go snacks and water (to be eaten outside the van) because there are not many food/water options due to the pandemic. Otherwise, we had plenty of bathroom breaks and LOADS of information. We also had a small group of 5 adults and one child. This company has been doing these tours since the movie first became popular and also received the local seal of approval from my hotel staff. Thumbs up!
A much anticipated tour. Luckily, there wasn't that much tourists, so we got the mini bus all to ourselves. The one and a half ride going to Hallstatt was enjoyable and informational. I had bits of information about Austria, Salzburg and the like. Saw some the picturesques view of Salzburg, over guide made us even close our eyes to surprise us with such a beautiful view.
It was an awesome trip. I really enjoyed it. The tour guide has given us alot of info while we were on the way to Hallstatt. She was quite easy to understand and was on time to pick-up from the drop-off location. I would recommend this trip to everyone looking for an excitement for a day.
Our tour guide Wolfgang gave a very detailed information about Hallstatt. And hallstatt is very pretty. 2,5 hours is not enough i wish it will be 3-3,5 hours. I also took funicular ride, but don't waste your time too long above. Better to spend it more in the village
Our guide (tour in March 15th) was very kind and gave detailed information about sound of music. The tour was also filled with the songs too! But unfortunately, many of the buildings were closed due to corona virus which made me super disappointed :(
