Truthfully, I should have known Salzburg is a walking city. So you essentially do a big circle on the outside of the city and around the other side of the mountain. The advantage is that you can go to these places easily - in that case get the 48 hour

It was good, we liked the fact that it was open on a 1st of January. Even though there were two tours but one of them (the old town) was not available on that day, but the other was really good. The only bad thing about all the tours we bought over Get your guide its that you have to redeem the online vouchers in some other place than the attraction and make the line when you get to the place you want to visit. It works if you want to secure your seat/entrance but otherwise is the same if you buy the ticket at the counter.

This was a great excursion. The bus was beautifully warm on a subzero day, the commentary was interesting and in good English and the fact that the buses run every 30 mins means that you can get on and off without having to endure a long wait on the cold.
