Afterward, you will continue your trip along Lake Wolfgang and be astonished by the beauty of the UNESCO World Heritage landscape. You will pass through a number of charming villages on the 1.5-hour drive to Hallstatt. Once you arrive in Hallstatt, you will have 2.5 hours of free time to explore the breathtaking city and the surroundings. During the journey to Hallstatt. you will be given information about the city and the Salzkammergut, as well as organizational information such as the meeting point, the sights, and the skywalk.  You can then visit the ossuary or “bone-house”, and take a look at its more than 1000 painted human skulls, or take a funicular ride up to the entrance of the world’s oldest salt mine and enjoy the breathtaking view from an observation platform, right above the town. If you just want to enjoy the atmosphere of Hallstatt, take a leisurely walk along the lake, and marvel at how the houses above you seem to cling onto the mountainside. The highlight was Hallstätt and this was an incredible place to be. The only downside is the limited amount of time (2.5 hours) which is not enough if you want to do all the activities and visit all the nice viewpoints. The rest of the tour was average with nice scenery during the drive and a good stop at Wolfgang lake however not much else going on. All in all, it was a good tour!

Fantastic tour. We took the advice of a previous reviewer and sat on the left hand side of the bus. the views were amazing. The guide was an elderly German man who knew his facts and had a great sense of humor. We would recommend bringing something to eat with you as to not lose time in beautiful Hallstatt waiting for food.

We enjoyed the trip a lot - was exactly what we wanted: to see the Lake District and have a walk in Hallstatt, to see the beautiful scenery. The guide was super nice: informative enough and has a delightful sense of humor. The only disappointment was that the skywalk was closed - if this is something important for you, you might prefer to check and chose another time. But there was another option where you could have a great view. Some tips: - please read the description - it’s very accurate. - take left side on the bus as most of the scenic spots are on the left side. - get water in advance as it’s 1,5h ride one way.
