Canoe, swim and dune buggy trek on an action-packed adventure to Mangue Seco, one of the top rated beaches in northern Bahia. Relax at a beachside restaurant and dip your toes in the sand on a full day out from Salvador.
What to Expect
Located 130 miles (220 kilometers) from Salvador in the north of Bahia, Manque Seco sits on the edge of a peninsula between the sea and river among lush mangroves.
There are no roads leading to the resort, making it an ideal destination for a relaxed day of adventure. As you approach Mangue Seco, you will transfer from your coach to cross the Real River in a traditional, covered canoe.
On the other side, take a dune buggy for an optional, 40-minute ride through the towering white sand dunes. Stop along the way for photos and end your crazy ride at one of the top rated beaches in Bahia.
Jump into the crystal clear waters to clean off the dust. Let the current gently wash over you.
Your next stop is a beach restaurant where you will have time for a no-host lunch. Showers and hammocks are available so you can unwind with a book, or simply laze in the sun.
You will then head into the tiny village to visit Tieta's House, named after a famous character from a Jorge Amado novel. Here you will enjoy a refreshing ice cream, before heading back south to Salvador.
