we had an absolutely fantastic lesson with Yasmin. we were both complete beginners and she helped us learn some basic steps, defences and attacks and we had so much fun! we really felt like we were given an insight into the principles behind capoeira and would definitely recommend this to everyone!

Full description

Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian MARTIAL ART that combines FIGHT, CULTURE, DANCE, MUSIC and ACROBATICS. It teaches discipline, self-defense, physical fitness, and on top of all of that is extremely connected to the Afro-Brazilian ancestry. The class is directed to BEGINNERS students who have NEVER TRAINED Capoeira. So don't worry, it is not necessary to have any type of experience! You will be just fine. I will teach you the attacks, defenses and flow movements. Be prepared to breathe the culture of Salvador. Training with us, you will learn so much more than just the exercise, creating memories that will last a lifetime. Vamos!

If you have more than one day in Salvador, this is a MUST activity. Yasmin was an excellent teacher, very patient and encouraging. You can feel the passion for Capoeira amongst the students/teachers. Not only was the class extremely fun and a great workout, but the environment of the studio is very welcoming. I enjoyed it so much I went back for a second class. Note that they also teach Samba and other styles of dance, just ask! Don’t miss out on what is sure to be an unforgettable part of your trip!
