What to Expect
This 13-hour excursion begins with a pick-up at your hotel in Salta. The drive will take you to the Tastil ruins and the town of San Antonio de los Cobres. Stop for a couple of hours to enjoy lunch and a walk around the town.
Continue along Route 40, crossing one of the largest desert areas in the country, to Salinas Grandes (the Great Salt Flats). Marvel at the vast area covered with shiny, white salt.
Next on the itinerary are the Lipán Cliff and Purmamarca, one of the typical towns of Humahuaca. Visit the Hill of 7 Colors.
Return to Salta after a brief stop in San Salvador de Jujuy.
