Day 1 Salt Lake City--Jackson--Grand Teton National Park--Yellowstone National Park

Embark on an adventure starting from Salt Lake City to the picturesque town of Jackson, explore the famous Elk Antler Arches on Town Square. Then proceed to Grand Teton National Park, enjoy the breathtaking view of glacier-crowned peaks and the river valley. Head to Yellowstone National Park afterwards, marveling at Yellowstone Lake, the West Thumb Geyser Basin, and iconic geothermal features. Stay overnight in Town of West Yellowstone.

Visit Yellowstone Bear World in the afternoon (admission included). Arrive at the Great Salt Lake in the afternoon. The Great Salt Lake is the largest remnant of prehistoric Lake Bonneville. It is the largest saltwater lake in the Western Hemisphere. Stay overnight in Salt Lake.

Overall the spots covered were really extensive. We covered all the major spots - Old Faithful, Norris, West Thumb, Hayden Valley, Teton Point etc. Few things which can be done better- 1. The trip did not plan for the Grand Prismatic Lookout point which is one of the most important spot in Yellowstone. We informed the tour guide as well to take us to this spot as it was not far from Midway Geyser Basin, but it was not accommodated. 2. The food stops were very less and we were not informed in advance sometimes about having less stops. So that can be planned better. 3. The tour can be more informational. Lot of times we were just taken to the spot and not given facts/ knowledge about the spot. So that could help.

Yellowstone is beautiful, so many geysers, colors, forms (liquid or muddy), landscapes... as for wildlife, we saw many bisons and a few elks. Finishing with the bearworld was a great experience. We spent little time at Grand Teton. For improvements: the images above illustrating the tour are misleading. It was a dream of mine to see the Midway Geyser Basin. We saw it briefly while walking alongside it, but not from the top so it looked nothing like these images. It is frustrating to come from this far, and not seeing it. The tour company must replace the images to be transparent with customers that they won't see this most iconic spot, or include a stop or walk uphill to actually observe that geyser, or replace the Morning Glory walk that's less interesting than the Midway Geyser Basin. If you can rent a car, I recommend that over a bus tour so that you can stop whenever you want to observe wildlife that you spot along the road, it's part of the Grand Teton and Yellowstone adventure.
