What People Are Saying About Salerno
Great and informative tour with interesting guide
We enjoyed every part of the tour. The bus ride was scenic and the tour guide did a great job narrating about local history and villages. We spent an hour walking around old town Salerno which was more interesting than expected. Paestum was fascinating and worth the visit. We got to walk into one of the temples which was awesome. A well paced informative tour with time for the group and time on your own. I highly recommend this tour.

Excellent informative guide, great value.
The guide was informative and answered questions as they cropped up. The whole tour was well paced, with a good value lunch stop.

interesting experience,wonderful temples,unforgetful history lesson
It was a very well organized tour.First part of the tour was a visit of Paestum with it's beautiful temples. The tour guide told us a lot of about the history of the area what was interesting to hear.To visit Paestum museum was worth to do because of it's frescoes, pottery, sculpture. We visited Salerno in the second part of the tour.We didn't spend a lot of time in a town but it was enough time to see the main places of interest:Cathedral, small town museum.

Long day to see incredible ruins in Paestum w/. little time in Salerno
We booked a tour to Salerno/Paestum because we wanted to check out the Greek ruins but didn't want to deal with taking multiple trains/buses to get there from Sorrento. We had a really nice day and it was fairly relaxing, since we were on a bus for about 5 hours. We didn't receive any sort of detailed itinerary, but essentially we drove to Salerno (with a strop to take pictures at a viewpoint of the Bay of Salerno), visited a church as a group, and then had 30 minutes of free time in Salerno. We didn't get much guidance on what to do with that limited amount of time, so we just walked around by the water. Lunch was pretty good and restaurant on the edge of the ruins. At the ruins, I wish we had covered everything there (a few things in my Rick Steve's book weren't covered), but we spent a good amount of time there and inside the museum. Our guide's English wasn't great, but my RS book provided some back-up info. Overall, I recommend this tour!
