When we arrived at sainte-chapelle, the security lines were clearly marked. There are three queries: one line is for people with no tickets, a line for ticketed guests for times half past the hour (ex. 12:30) and another line for ticketed guests with times on the hour (ex. 12:00). After the security screening, you enter the courtyard, and you then go get in line to have your ticket scanned to enter the church. We had no issues with our QR codes being scanned at either location. Everything was easy to do and efficient. It is best to have a timed entry ticket. The line for the non-ticket holders was quite long. You use the same QR code at both locations for entry.
This place is gorgeous. Sainte-Chapelle has the most amazing tall stained glass windows and the pictures don’t do it justice. A must see in person. The concierge was also interesting with a lot of history from the area. A good friend and relatively cheap packaged deal.
