Enjoy a round-trip bus tour with peace of mind, cruising smoothly along the Autobahn before arriving in Salzburg with the Alps visible in the distance. After a guided tour of the old town, you'll have some free time to explore on your own. The guide will also provide explanations about the filming locations of the movie "The Sound of Music" throughout Salzburg. As someone who has a special connection to the film, I was immediately transported back to those scenes, making the experience all the more emotional. Of course, the scenery is breathtakingly beautiful, so even if you're not familiar with the movie, you'll still enjoy it. During the cruise on Lake Wolfgang, we encountered a thunderstorm. If the weather had been better, we would have enjoyed the beautiful scenery, but instead, we got excited among ourselves, thinking it was just like the scene in the movie where the children were afraid of the thunder and Maria sang "My Favorite Things." Additionally, our guide, Hanae, who could speak Japanese, occasionally provided clear explanations in Japanese, making the tour very enjoyable all the way back. Not only this bus tour but also other tours are well-planned and managed, with the order of sightseeing, ticket arrangements for attractions, and guidance on dining locations all efficiently organized within the allotted time, allowing you to enjoy them with peace of mind. I am very satisfied with choosing this bus tour as an optional tour.

The day trip to Salzburg and Lake Wolfgang was fantastic. I would book it again in a heartbeat. We had a great guide (Alberto) and driver (Andrea). Alberto often made us laugh with his friendly manner and charming Italian accent. Our driver got us to our destination and back again safely and on time. The boat ride on Lake Wolfgang was a dream. Unfortunately, our stay there was much too short. I would have liked to stay longer.

This was one of our favorite activities of our trip to the Salzburg area! Hallstatt and St. Wolfgang were incredibly beautiful and quaint. Mido was a good driver and tour guide. We enjoyed the extra stop he made for us to all try the alpine sled! The only adjustment I would have made in hindsight was to spend maybe a little less time in Hallstatt (we were there 3.5 hours) and add a little more time to our St. Wolfgang stop.

This was a long but lovely day to Salzburg and Wolfgangsee. Our tour guide Monika was absolutely wonderful and provided a great experience. They aren’t allowed to guide in Salzburg so be prepared to be on your own, but I thought it was perfect!

Very good - Wolfgangsee was absolutely the best part, so beautiful. 5/5! Bring swimmers and a portable charger - this bus was the first of Gray Line’s I’ve been on without charging ports on the bus.
