Full description

Discover Ouarzazate and Zagora on this 2-day trip from Marrakech. Visit the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou fortress and admire stunning views of the Atlas mountains. Ride camel through the Sahara during the sunset. Savor a local dinner and breakfast and stay overnight in a tent at the Zagora dunes.

Day 1:

Begin with early-morning pickup from Marrakech. Travel through the dessert sandstone city of Ouarzazate. Stop at the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, where you will have free time to visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Continue to the verdant Draa Valley, which is well-known for its amazing ksour and kasbah. Head to Zagora and make your way to the windswept dunes for a sunset camel ride. Make camp at a campsite in the Zagora dunes and enjoy a hearty dinner of local flavors.

A very nice experience! Everything that is written in the description is offered. The drive to the desert and back was indeed quite long. But the driver made many stops in between so for us, it didn't feel too tired. The minivan however had some problems with the AC. It was super hot when the wind couldn't get in. When we got to the desert, everything was mostly great. Hammid was our tourguide and he was really attentive to our needs. He told us many things about the Berber culture which was really interesting. Dinner was okay, not the best but I wouldn't expect more. What surprised me the most is how clean the toilets and showers were. The water during shower could be a bit weak sometimes but that is totally foreseeable. The tent is quite hot so many of us went to sleep outside. I think they should offer a sleeping outdoor experience rather than setting up tents. It was indeed the best experience: sleeing outside in the desert, fresh breeze and bright stars.

Wonderful tour but please note: 1. don't buy an expensive scarf at Ait Ben Haddou, it is not necessary. You can go into the desert and ride the camel without a scarf 2. Don't pay entrance for Ait Ben Haddou 3. Bring your own water, it is not included in the meal 4. optional bring your own food for lunch during bus stops 5. optional sit behind driver in the van to have a nice view

Nice experience, on time pick up and comfortable bus. The first stop deserves, too bad for the lunch that takes place in a pre-established place and is a typical tourist restaurant; once you arrive in the desert after 1 hour of camel riding, the camp is clean and has everything you need (even a power outlet). Surely it is a journey in which you have to know how to adapt to the long hours of transport but they are to be taken into account for the experience itself!
