This tour is expensive, but a must do for your stay in Barcelona. The private guide arrived at the location just across the street from the cathedral on time and was very informative. There were so many details that helped us to get the most out of the experience. It is truly unique to see a modern cathedral of this scale under construction. The design is stunning and beyond description. We went in thinking "we paid a lot for this tour." We came out thinking, "so glad we did that!"
I rarely complain about anything, yet, when I book a priority entrance with a guide I expect priority entrance; waiting in an already existing queue is ok, but letting a few groups in, groups which arrived AFTER our group, and telling us to wait in a draughty shade left an unnecessary bad feeling on an otherwise nice experience.
The tour guide was good, but not the best that I had while in Barcelona. He just wasn't that engaging. It also would have been better if it were an all English rather than English/Spanish tour, but that might have been my mistake in booking.
I would recommend this tour to someone who knows very little about the history of the church. Was in awe of Gaudi’s talent as well as his devotion to his faith. Highly recommended esp for Catholics.
Likely could have done the tour with a stand alone audio guide vs. Personal tour. It was done in Spanish and English which made it hard to follow.
