On occasion, you can even see small eruptions and lava flowing, depending on the activity of the volcano. From the summit, you can enjoy great views of the nearby volcanoes, Agua, Fuego, and Acatenango, the pacific lowlands, and all the way to El Salvador. Overall the experience was excellent, the hike, the camp, we had storms, but we were able to see the Fuego Volcano. We were not able to hike to the Fuego Volcano, that was the saddest thing. Perhaps as a suggestion, in my group we had people who perhaps did not have much hiking experience. It would be good if the guide gave some hiking instructions. The food was good and hearty. Include the guide in the meals, it is important to see that he eats the same as us. But overall it was excellent.

This was one of the best tours of my life. Luis is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about his home, Antigua. He provided lots of fascinating info throughout the tour that my friends did not learn from other guides. Luis is also super sincere and kind- really good energy and always kept things lighthearted and fun. Highly recommend!

The hike is medium difficulty (per the signs in the park). Recommend renting a stick as the uphill is quite steep and downhill impacts on the knees. Wonderful views of Pacaya and the surrounding areas and volcanoes. Highly recommended!

For me it was strenuous but nice, my daughter (7 years old) didn't mind it much. What she liked best was the guide's dog, who accompanied us;-) A good alternative for kids who are too young for the other volcano tours.

Luiz was a fantastic tour guide- he knew everything and anything about Antigua and was also very funny with it too. I would definitely recommend Luiz as your tour guide.
