Wander past the former Royal Palace along Tsar Osvoboditel Boulevard to the Russian Church. Admire the parliament building in National Assembly Square, dominated by the impressive monument to Tsar Osvoboditel (King Liberator), erected in 1907. You will also walk to the Russian Church, National Theater, the former Royal Palace, and the city's oldest building - the 4th-century round church of St. George. In the second part of the tour, you will see the imposing buildings of the Bulgarian parliament, Presidency, and Council of Ministers - part of the city's communist heritage. You will also be able to try Sofia's mineral water springs right next to the city's former Central Bath. To top it all off, you will be fascinated by Sofia's Square of Tolerance, which features four different temples in close proximity: a Catholic church, an Orthodox church, a mosque, and a synagogue. The tour finishes right next to the beginning of Sofia's main pedestrian street, Vitosha Boulevard—a perfect spot to continue your day by having lunch at one of the numerous restaurants nearby. Small in size and only takes 30 minutes to visit, but its frescoes have made an enormous contribution to the world history of art. Then, you will visit the National History Museum, which will guide you through 14 centuries of a long history of Bulgaria. By this time, your hunger for knowledge and a local delicious meal will be strong enough for a visit to a little secret restaurant, established in 1927, where you will continue with pleasure and chat about the topics you are interested in - Communism Soviet era, Turkish occupation, participation of Bulgaria in World War 1 and 2 and many more. In the afternoon, park your vehicle up from Alexander Nevski Square for a visit of the largest church on the Balkans, followed by an underground tour of St. Sofia Church catacombs from Byzantine time. Continue with a stroll to the Russian Church, the National Theater and its garden, the Rotunda St. George (round church), the Roman remains and finish your walk by the Mosque Bania Bashi, where you will enter in the Museum of History of Sofia, the Hall's Market and the thermal springs nearby.
