This unforgettable adventure is also perfect for families. You will be seated in a sledge pulled by a snowmobile, driving into the deep forest. The route leads you through the changing landscape of Lapland. During the safari you will have a break by an open fire where you can enjoy a snack with coffee and tea. If you are lucky, you may be able to see the Northern Lights lighting up the sky.

Magical adventure where you will surrender yourself to the cold water in a dry suit which keeps you warm and insulated from the water. Life vest and helmet are included in the gear. We start with safety instructions for floating and go down to the river together. The thrill of going into the freezing water is unique! As you step into the water you can let yourself go with the stream and wonder at the frozen trees and ice around you. During the activity you will float the distance twice and enjoy hot drinks after the experience.

After meeting up with our guide we drive to Juuma village. This snowshoe hike takes us to the most beautiful part of Kuusamo and Oulanka national park, The little bears trail. We will hike next to the river Kitka with snowshoes and see the famous Myllykoski old mill next to the roaring waters. Next to the water we may see white throated dippers or otters having fun in the flowing water and snow. The white throated dipper is a famous among the locals, this bird stays in Oulanka over the winter and eats food from under the water. If you are lucky you can see it jumping into the stream and back up. This winter scenery will surely take your breath away. Hiking distance is about 4-5 kms and during the program we will have a coffee break with sandwiches.

The best way to catch a glimpse of the northern lights is to head out into the dark forest with snowshoes. During our walk we will stop to admire the nature and learn about animal tracks in the snow. If the sky is clear, we will see the bright stars and with a little luck the colourful northern lights. Stopping at a fire place we will have a hot drink and our guide will also tell us interesting stories about the arctic region. Length of the walk is 2-5 km. The activities are open departures and program will be done if minimum 4 persons is joining. We will notify you at the latest by 3 p.m. the day before if the program is cancelled.

Sauna guide also joins you in the sauna and shows what to do and how to get the most out of your sauna experience. No one is naked during this experience, you can wear your bathing suit in the sauna. The outdoor jacuzzi is available for the group and sitting in the warm water among the frozen nature is an unique experience! But the true high light is a dip in the ice hole! Sauna is suitable for everyone from small children to grandparents. During the sauna experience berry juice, water and tea is served as well as small snacks.

Ice fishing or pilkki (as it’s called in Finnish) is one of the most popular hobbies from the locals. On a beautiful, frozen lake you try to catch as much fish as possible. With snowshoes you walk a short distance to the lake. Your guide will explain how to drill a hole and how the fishing rods work. You may catch perch, whitefish, roach, pike or even grayling. If you caught fish, your guide will show you how to prepare the fish by an open fire. During the break you can also enjoy coffee, tea and a snack. This hike will take you the the snowshoeing experience in stunning fell landscapes of Riisitunturi National park. After you have met your guide and get your gears, transfer around 30 minutes to the starting point of the hike. The route takes you through the snow-covered forest, from where you climb up to witness panoramic views of the surrounding wilderness and Kitkajärvi, Europe´s largest spring water lake. Along the way you will learn about the arctic nature, way of life and of course enjoy a coffee break by the fire. The length of the hike is 3-6 kilometers depending on the chosen route. your guide will decide the route depending on current conditions and the group. Minimum age of 12 years is required for participation. Duration 5-6 hours.

We will pick you up at the agreed place in the Ruka or Kuusamo area and leave for Posio to reach the Riisitunturi. Once you arrive at the car park we will give you all the necessary information to best carry out the activity. We will tell you about the Park, the beautiful places we will encounter and the possibility of seeing animals such as lynx, rabbits, reindeer, foxes, squirrel. Together with our guide we challenge ourselves a bit and head to the winter trails of Ruka area with fatbikes. Fatbiking around Ruka opens up varied landscapes while you also enjoy the fun ride of these popular bikes. During the trip we also stop for a break by the fire and grill some sausages. Driving distance about 4-5km. Duration about 2 – 3 hours. Average physical condition is required for participation. We keep right to change the routing according to the weather conditions.
