Stockholm: Stupid Stockholm - self-guided walking tour game

5. Stockholm: Stupid Stockholm - self-guided walking tour game

Join Glenn the ghost on an audio walking tour through Stockholm - a city he strongly dislikes. Learn about Stockholm's history in a very entertaining and gamified way, as you explore the city. Glenn was proud to be from Gothenburg when he was still alive, so why is his soul stuck on the east coast, haunting stupid Stockholm? Does it have anything to do with a mysterious box left by his mother in a Stockholm storage space? Go for a walk with Glenn to pick up the box, and save him from roaming the streets of Stockholm for all of eternity. Glenn shares anecdotes about historic Stockholm failures as you walk. The murder of King Gustav III? Very clumsily planned, if you ask Glenn. The Vasa ship? Any deckhand from Gothenburg would have done a better construction job, considering that it sank on its maiden voyage. And don't even get him started on Stockholm's bloodbath... This audio tour is self-guided via a GPS-based app downloaded to your smartphone. When you buy the tour you will receive an email with instructions on how to download the app which serves as your guide and narrator. Once you have the app installed, head out to the tour starting point, open the app, put your headphones on and get ready for your history walk! Listen to the story while you walk, and help Glenn unpack items and clues to his past from the box in each location. The further you walk, the closer you get to finding the truth of why Glenn is haunting a city he despises. This walking tour is perfect for those who want to go sightseeing in Stockholm in a fun and independent manner. This experience is completely flexible: you can start, pause and end it whenever it suits you. Step into Stockholm history, as told by a ghost who is involuntarily stuck there.

Gamla Stan's Landmarks and legends: A Self-Guided Audio Tour

6. Gamla Stan's Landmarks and legends: A Self-Guided Audio Tour

At the heart of what was once the Swedish empire is Stockholm and, as you’ll find out on this walking tour, it’s more than just an archipelago and home of the country’s monarch. Starting in Gamla Stan, the Old Town, you’ll wander down narrow medieval lanes and past grand buildings built to impress during the days of the empire. At the end, you’ll emerge into the pulsing centre of modern Stockholm, with its gleaming glass buildings. You’ll hear about Gustav Vasa, the man who started the uprising that led to Swedish independence five hundred years ago, and retrace history on cobblestoned streets that once flowed with blood. And I’ll tell you about Olaus Petri, the priest who almost lost his life for contradicting Gustav Vasa after he was crowned. Bronze statues of kings will gaze down at you while you stroll down Kungsträdgården and hear their stories. All the way, you’ll be surrounded by the natural beauty of Lake Mälaren and never far from water, since Stockholm stands on a handful of islands at the very spot where the lake meets the Baltic Sea. You’ll find out where you’ll be wined and dined if you ever win a Nobel Prize. You’ll also be able to brag to friends that you’ve: • Seen a genuine century-old Viking runestone • Taken in the rather oversized Stockholm Palace • Walked down Västerlånggatan, the cheapest piece of real-estate on a Swedish Monopoly board • Spotted the Royal Swedish Opera house and its two entrances • Found the fountain in which they’ll no doubt be plenty of splashing about if Sweden wins the Ice Hockey World Cup or the Eurovision Song Contest when you’re in town • Discovered where the expression “Stockholm Syndrome” comes from • Learned about Alfred Nobel, a man who profited off of death and destruction and then donated his fortune to fund the Nobel Prize while standing outside the Nobel Prize Museum Allow at least 90 minutes for this tour but feel free to give into the temptation to stop at one of the many scenic spots along the way for a coffee – preferably served with a traditional Swedish cinnamon bun.

The overall ride was good and you got to see a lot and the audio quite was good too. However my only issue is the advertising for this ticket. When stating 24-hour hop and off but then the buses only go from 10am-5pm not exactly 24 hours. I contacted the online support and they weren’t exactly helpful with this either and just kept used a copy and paste response about 10-5 that’s 7 hours. Either way I think it should be changed to a day pass and not 24 hours.

We took a full tour on the bus to get an overall picture. What a great city. The explanations were in different languages. The technology worked. Everything was great.

The personal is very helpful and friendly. It's the best way to get to know, in just a few days stay, a wonderful city as Stockholm.

Entertaining and very informative. Loved the local coffee stop and the history aspect.

The buses ran on time, but I would have liked clean windows
