Then we will walk to the entrance which is about 3 minutes away. Did you know that the Gallery has been closed for a long time due to the size of the palace inventory? size of the palace inventory? And also did you know that it had its origin at the end of the reign of Elizabeth II? In this gallery there are 3 floors divided into the dynasties of the Trastámara and Habsburg, Bourbons, and temporary exhibitions where you can see the most unimaginable objects. for example, you can see the mysterious carriage from the court of Charles II, gigantic columns from the old convent of Montserrat convent or the luxurious crown of the Virgin of Atocha, among many others. Right now, you can visit Sorolla temporary exhibition. It ends on floor -3 in the area of temporary exhibitions where you can leave through the Cuesta de la Vega or return by the elevator to floor 0. There is also a store where you can buy souvenirs and the fantastic guide of the gallery. IMPORTANT: If after 15 minutes the travelers do not come to the tour, the tour may be canceled if there are no signs of life or the guided tour may continue with the rest of the attendees without waiting. Although originally intended to display tapestries and carriages, it is ultimately intended to also house luxury objects, furniture, sculpture, architectural elements, paintings and other pieces of art or history that the different kings of Spain treasured throughout their history. Among the 650 pieces, including paintings, furniture and models that will be permanently or temporarily exhibited in the Museum, the following stand out: - The Polyptych of Isabel la Católica by Juan de Flandes. - The White Horse by Diego Velázquez. - Salome with the head of John the Baptist by Caravaggio. - Lamentation over the Dead Christ by Anton Raphael Mengs. - The armor and helmet used by Carlos V in the battle of Mühlberg. - The black carriage of Queen Mariana of Austria.

Our uber driver canceled and we had to wait for another. I contacted the reservation team and although we were late, they allowed us to accompany the next tour. We really appreciate their communication throughout and accommodating our tardiness. The tour was great and our guide was informative.
