Overall rating
It was a great experience! We saw multiple auroras. The pictures were not so intense but with a little bit of editing you could add the desired intensity and our guide was very patient taking lots of pictures of everyone. Hot snacks and hot drink too. I was a bit afraid of the the toilet question as I read some reviews and as a pregnant woman peeing every once in a while is essential. Luckily we had stops and chances. I am also not very picky and didn’t need a “proper toilet” so when it was a super quick stop at the road it was perfect for me, and for the group because at gas stations it was quite crowded.
We decided last minute to do this hike, and we didn’t regret it. If you’ve got a short time in Rovaniemi this hike is a tremendous opportunity to learn and see a great deal about nature in Lapland. Pierre and Marie were great guides and provided a really fun experience. Grilling sausages with warm blueberry juice was an excellent way to cap off the hike - especially with 2 teenage boys. They even captured photos for us so we didn’t miss anything! Everything from communication to book with Chris, to drop off at the end was solid with Nordic Odyssey. Thanks for everything Pierre and Marie!
This tour was fantastic because Andrei was a wonderful tour guide! Punctual, attentive, kind, and super helpful! A fun day trip with an hour-long walk in the tundra accompanied by his thorough and accurate explanations. Highly recommended for children too!
