Awesome trip! This was our only opportunity to get out into the Wilderness, and as it happened, being end of the Winter season we got a tour all to ourselves! We signed on the Riisitunturi circular hike that stops at one of Finlands amazing Wilderness huts for a Finnish campfire snack. Though late in the season we had fresh snow and a wonderful walk, our guide Gigi (apols for spelling!) sprinkled some interesting info about the Arctic Taiga forest region, and how life has found its way in one of the last true Wilderness of the world. We had fun chopping wood and making a fire together using traditional methods. Thanks team!
The most amazing experience ever!! Our tour guide Atanas had mountain guiding experience and knew the landscape very well which made us all safe. He taught us so much about the wildlife and nature that was in the park. The national park was absolutely stunning! My favourite part of Rovaniemi! It is very cold in Winter so make sure to bring as many warm clothes as you can.
