Full description

Discover Korouoma, a 30-kilometer-long and 130-meter-deep canyon located southeast of Rovaniemi which offers breathtaking scenery all year round. In Winter, the waterfalls turn into fantastic ice formations that are well-known for ice-climbing.  First, get picked up by your guide from your accommodation in Rovaniemi and set off for the Korouoma Canyon nature reserve. Start the tour with a hike through the park, admiring spectacular scenery including cliffs, rapids, and waterfalls.

Keep your eyes sharp to observe an array of rare species that call the area home. Snowshoes are optional but may be useful if you need more confidence when hiking down the canyon or just want to enjoy some deep snow walks.

Then, have the chance to observe some of the most spectacular frozen waterfalls in Europe and enjoy the beauty of snowy nature. Warm up with a typical Finnish lunch snack around an open fire.

Watch as your guide shows you their fire-making skills. At the end of the 6-hour excursion, return to Rovaniemi where you will be dropped off at your hotel by around 4 PM.

Incredible journey! We had so much fun sliding at the bad paths and just walking through the snow and nature. Our guide ( Tibor ) was great and knowledgable and attended to our needs. 'No hands!!' ( he took health and safety very close to heart haha ). Great hike - not difficult at all. Almost flat the whole time ( i would say it was more of a walk ).

This tour was amazing!! We hiked through the snowy forest, following the trail up and down and crossing foot bridges, and some parts we had to slide down on our bottoms, which was fun. There are ropes to hold onto where it is steep to walk down. Our guide was Bozo, he is very knowledgeable and explained lots of things to us about the forest and the waterfalls. He showed us how to make a camp fire and we had bbq sausages and hot chocolate. Our guide made sure that all the time we were ok and the parts of the hike we found difficult he would always help us. Thank you Bozo for an amazing experience. The photos you took for me were great too!!

huge beautiful canyon and nature and the waterfalls are beautiful. The walk that is not too long and not too short. The walking is easy to do and offers a lot of variety. Lunch is in the middle of the forest and very cozy and delicious. Also good with younger children. Our youngest is 9 years old.
