Amazing fun filled day speeding through the snow covered forests across frozen lakes to a remote yurt for our reindeer stew lunch and ice fishing experience. Our guide Yuri was competent, knowledgeable and adventurous. The weather was a (balmy) 1 degree, but with our custom suits, boots and helmets we never felt cold. The scenery is stunning in every direction, visiting a lookout point on the return journey, just to see it from the hills and see how far we'd travelled. Highly recommend this tour.

Full description

Embark on a Finnish adventure from Rovaniemi as you explore the beautiful wilderness surrounding the city on a snowmobile. Try some ice-fishing and cook up anything you catch around the campfire, accompanied by hot drinks and a hearty soup.

Journey into the depths of the wilderness around Rovaniemi as you drive along frozen rivers on a snowmobile. Watch the Nordic scenery fly by as you make your way hidden ice fishing spot in the middle of the wilderness.

Learn about the Finnish way of life as your guide teaches you how to drill a hole in the ice and prepare the ice-fishing rod and baits. In the meantime, your guide will prepare a delicious soup lunch, accompanied by hot drinks. If you're lucky, this will be accompanied by the catch of the day.

After your retreat to the wilderness, travel back to the starting point in the center of Rovaniemi.

  • 2 persons share one snowmobile
  • Drivers must be 18 or older and hold a valid driving license
  • This activity is not suitable for infants 0-3 years old. Children 4-14 years old are seated in a sled behind the guide’s snowmobile
  • This activity is not recommended for pregnant women and people with fragile musculoskeletal system
  • The driver is liable for damages up to 990€/accident. Insurance can be purchased on the spot for €20 and lowers the liability to €150
  • Please advise of any special diets, vegetarian, gluten-free, etc., at check-out

Great experience with great guides. Driving the snowmobiles was amazing. The freshly cooked lunch was also perfect as well as the visited locations. Was absolutely worth the price.
