This was absolutely wonderful! Gemma (the guide) was so much fun and made the educational part not only interesting but entertaining. Seeing the baby kiwi was awesome - as well as everything else. Highly recommmend this, particularly for a rainy or cool day when folks want a low-key, easy-paced experience and KIWI birds!

There was a mix up with tickets as the time we book didn't have enough spaces so we were moved to a slightly later tour and then when we arrived the booking hadn't been adjusted properly. They still let us join the tour so it wasn't an issue. We saw a baby Kiwi as well as a couple of larger ones. Very interesting tour.

Going into the Caves with Down to Earth is an unforgettable experience for sure. I have spent 14 months in New Zealand in total and this trip is easily one of the most memorable moments. Ash, the guide, was super friendly and easy to get along with. It didn't feel like the typical tourist attractions, it felt more like a fun adventure with a group of friends, although almost all 7 (including Ash) of us just met. Be prepared to get wet, be prepared to crawl and to maneuver through narrow passages in the cave, but also don't be scared. As long as you are physically somewhat fit it'll be fine. You also get all clothes from Helmet (!!!) to boots, so you don't need to bring anything except yourself and maybe a camera.
