Built in the 1700s century by one of the most famous kings at that time, the dual monarch of Denmark-Norway. - Let our guide introduce you to the Roskilde Cathedral where almost all Christian Danish monarchs are buried. A UNESCO Heritage site dating 1000 years back. - The day ends at the very coast of Roskilde Fjord. This is where the Viking Ship Museum is located. Outdoors in the summer, you can watch how a replicate Viking ship is made in the small Viking Shipyard. And you are allowed to enter the moored replicates in the harbor. Inside the Viking Ship Museum, on display are Viking shipwrecks found in the very fjord where the museum is situated. Don't miss the little gift shop to get that special thing that defines this visit. - Infotainment!, that's what we call it. Not so many facts that you lose yourself in years, Kings, and wars. Should you prefer something else, you might find just that on the local walking street. - After Hillerod the tour goes to the larger town Roskilde for the last stop of the day. - At Roskilde Cathedral your guide will introduce you to some of the history of the cathedral, you will see some of the most distinct Christian monarch's graves, and get a small insight into their impact on Danish history. - The day ends at the Viking Ship Museum at Roskilde Fjord (bay of Roskilde). The museum has a shipyard and a small harbor full of reconstructed Viking ships. Sometimes we are lucky to see a replicated Viking Ship cruising on the water of the fjord.
