This tour beneath modern Rome is like being invited on an archeological adventure that includes spelunking but one that--thankfully--requires absolutely no gear and you don't get dirty. Anestis led me through the archeological remains of there is a stretch of the Aqua Virgo aqueduct, inaugurated in 19 BC Rome, spotlighting the Aqua Virgo aqueduct, which still supplies water to the Trevi Fountain in the 21st century. Afterwards, he marvelously pointed out and described in detail features of the fountain that, though I had already seen it and just the night before had attended a tour that included the Trevi, had escaped my notice (or been ignored by the guide of the previous tour). Finally and thrillingly, he told me the two locations where I could find the extant and functioning Aqua Virgo aqueduct, giving me an opportunity to have my own archaeological adventure. No digging out dirt required.

Our tour guide (Rosey I think?) was so wonderful. I loved having her for our private tour. She was enthusiastic and genuine. Her tour made me so happy, as I was most excited about seeing the underground portion. I will be recommending this tour to everyone I know. It was so worth the time and money.

A great tour with a very knowledgeable guide that my family really enjoyed. Seeing a portion of the Roman aqueduct system that feeds Trevi and all of the fountains throughout Rome was a real treat (and got us out of the sun and away from the crowds!) Highly recommended!
