We had a tour scheduled and didn’t have enough time to meet our guide due to the long security line. We were there in the recommended time frame (after a bit of confusion with our “get directions” link. After calling customer service, we were told that we could come back the next day. We did and Eduardo (with Vox) our guide was excellent. His English was very good and his tour was informative and personable. Take a tour of the basilica, it’s worth the money just for the information!!

Our tour guide was very nice to everyone, concentrated on the essential highlights and didn't overwhelm anyone. Some of their stories were a revelation that no app could replace. Bravissima! Only the meeting point was difficult for us to find. "Vox Mundi Desk" was not that helpful nor was it signposted.

We arrived at Saint Peters square at 10:00 and manages to get through the security entrance at 11:20. Our tour was supposed to start at 11:30 but the guide was a bit late. The ticket validation was at a counter at the cathedral gates to the right, and we were supposed to wait for the guide outside the gates under the sun. You can wait at the shade near the gates, you can't miss the guide with his flag. The tour was very informative and the guide managed to keep our attention with good pacing and good jokes at the right time.
