Due to health and safety regulations, this itinerary may change. See Know before you go for the latest updates.

Explore St. Peter's Basilica, one of Rome's most famed and magnificent sites. Known as the Queen of all the Basilicas, this Renaissance-style church and its dome dominate the skyline of Rome. Discover why the American philosopher Ralph Waldo Emerson described it as "an ornament of the earth...the sublime of the beautiful".

Marvel at the interior, lavishly decorated with marble, reliefs, architectural sculpture, and gilding. At the heart of the basilica, beneath the high altar, discover the Chapel of the Confession, named after the confession of faith by St. Peter. Marvel at the curving marble staircases that lead to this underground chapel.

After the tour, you can use the online Rome City Guide, a self-guided audio tour with stories from local experts, which is included in the experience. Learn about the city's points of interest, hidden gems, public transport, Wi-Fi access points, and best photo stops.

Take into consideration the queue to go through the police checks to enter the building. It took about 20-30mins just for that and we missed the slot that I had booked. GetYourGuide wasn’t prompt in replying and recommending a solution to the missed slot. I called up the local vendor and was able to get the answer that we can easily go for the next available slot. Seems like it is common for people to underestimate the queue time just to get in.

Very good leadership. Our guide was very structured and told very interesting stories. Very informative despite only one hour. Unfortunately, the meeting point was described somewhat imprecisely. We didn't know that we first had to pass the security check. The meeting point was right in St. Peter's Basilica. It should be better described.

Beautiful experience highly recommended to follow the route with a guide also because the heritage is so vast that you would get lost. We then had the good fortune to visit with Pasquale, a boy who is passionate about culture and very well prepared. It was really a pleasure. Glory
