Knowledgeable, personable guide

Our guide was informative, personable, and professional. She was helpful with explaining what we were seeing and what we could not see (due to changes over time). You will be on the move for most of the duration of this tour and will be climbing a lot of stairs. Recommend wearing appropriate shoes and bringing water. We are in our 50’s, good health, average fitness and did fine- although ready to rest afterward. The only disappointment was the part that we were most looking forward to most- The lower level of the Colosseum portion of the tour was brief and not as extensive as we anticipated.

This is a comprehensive ancient Roman tour conducted by a superb guide

We were in a group of 24 people with basic interest to advanced knowledge of ancient Roman history. The guide Antonella Palma had the abilty to capture and maintain one's attention for 3,5 hours with superior knowledge and answering to all levels of interest. After the tour one could really put the Roman jig-saw puzzle together in one's imagination in a very understandable way and one really felt that the tour answered to why one participated in the tour.

Great tour

This must be one of the best tours of the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill. The skip the line priority access really worked - we basically went straight through!! In the Colosseum you start on the Arena and then get to see the underground area in which they kept the lions and the gladiators. Very much worth seeing it. These 2 parts are not crowed at all as only 2 groups or so at a time are allowed to get access to these parts. I guess this is what makes to tour a bit more expensive but it is sooo worth it - I think these are the best parts of the tour. After this, you get to see the general part of the Colosseum. Then off to the Roman Forum and the Palatine Hill - again with no wait priority access (so nice!). The explanations were done via a radio / headset with excellent quality. Our guide Heidi explained everything very well and you could ask questions at any point. She made sure that we stayed in the shade where ever possible. Wonderful tour - highly recommend it!
