Full description
Try out authentic delicacies as you immerse yourself in the local culture of Rome on a small-group walking tour. Taste unmissable Roman foods such as pizza from a family-run establishment, Supplì (fried mozzarella rice balls) and typical seasonal dishes from Rome’s Jewish Quarter. Meet in Piazza del Biscione before whetting your appetite at a local charcuterie at your first stop. Sample some typical Italian cured meats and some local wine there before heading off to try Rome's well-known tasty street food, Supplì. Your guide will fill you in on these rice delicacies' 19th-century beginnings and how they earned their name. Next, taste some classic Roman pizza and Menabrea beer at family-run Roscioli, an establishment run by the founder’s grandchildren. After this you’ll be heading to the Roman Ghetto, Rome’s old Jewish Quarter. Here, sample traditional zucchini flower fritters or carciofi alla giudìa (deep-fried artichokes), depending on what is in season at the time. Finish up the tour with a delicious artisanal gelato at Punto Gelato near Largo di Torre Argentina, the site of four ancient Roman Temples and Pompey’s Theater. Savor the unique northern Italian flavors at a gelateria that featured in Gambero Rosso’s Top 10 list of the best gelato in Rome.  Choose from either a private experience just for your group, or a small-group experience with no more than 14 people. Elisabeth was a very passionate guide who showed us a couple places with different kinds of food. She told us passionate stories about the food and the stories behind the food. Elisabeth also spoke about the history of some Rome places which we encountered during the tour. Would recommend. We had the tour

Elisabeth was wonderful! Super informative and friendly. Perfect mix of food and culture experience. We asked her a bunch of questions and she answered all. She’s has a wealth of knowledge about Rome outside of the perimeters of the tour. If it’s your first time to Rome, you won’t regret this tour!

Francesca was awesome! Just lovely and we had such a great group of people from Poland, Germany, and the Netherlands which made the evening so enjoyable. We tasted the flavors of Rome but more importantly, we made some. I e connections too. Fran Escazú was the best! Thank you for a great memorable evening in Rome!
