Its my second time in Rome and I have to say for starters who would like to get to know the local food and some bits of history and facts about Rome, this would be a very good guided tour and food trip all in one. Elisabeth was lovely and excellent as a guide. Knows a lot of details in the neighborhood of Rome which you’ll tour around as you do food tasting in different food shops. Definitely a very recommended guided tour.

excellent local food tour

Our guide, Virginia, is excellent. She told us a lot of the Roman stories and took us to many different kinds of local street & restaurant foods. Food portions were big in some food tasting and we wouldn't be able to know so many food-related stories & hidden restaurants without the tour. Highly recommend for this tour :)

A combination of good food and interesting locations

All went smoothly from the time we met Marta, our guide, in the Campo di Fiori, slightly off the beaten Roman tourist trail. Stopping occasionally to give us fascinating insights regarding the history of the places we visited, she also led our small group to several small restaurants to sample genuine Italian dishes. The pizzas on the thinnest of crusts were delicious and very unlike what we would expect of a pizza at home. And we were introduced to food we hadn't tried before - including suppli (rice balls) and globe artichokes cooked in traditional Roman-Jewish style in the former Ghetto. Wine and finally a wide choice of ice-creams rounded off a really enjoyable evening. Thank you, Marta, for your efficiency throughout.
