  • Learn to make pizza from scratch, starting with flour, water and yeast
  • Roll out the dough yourself and then create your favorite pizza
  • Bake your pizza in the oven like a real pizzaiolo
  • Enjoy your freshly baked pizza in a restaurant in the center of Rome
Full description
Make your way to the restaurant located in central Rome where you’ll meet your small group of aspiring pizza chefs and your local guide. Here, you’ll spend a delightful evening learning how to make authentic Italian pizza from fresh ingredients.   The cooking class will set you up with a station including a work plan, an apron and rolling pin. You’ll start with a theoretical and then practical lesson on working the dough, from the ingredients to wait times to two different ways of kneading the dough. Then, choose which type of pizza you’d like to make – marinara (tomato, garlic, oregano), margherita (tomato, mozzarella, basil), diavola (tomato, mozzarella, spicy salami, chili) or Napoli (tomato, mozzarella, anchovies).   After the lesson, you’ll be accompanied to your table where you’ll enjoy a delicious bruschetta while your pizza is cooked in a wood oven. Savor a red or white wine, water or limoncello while you taste your creations.

This was a very wonderful experience. I suggest it to anyone coming to Rome. We made pizza ourselves which was a lot of fun. Our pizza teacher was very nice and helpful. I actually want to try do pizza like that at home. I newer though I could make pizza my self that I’m going to enjoy so much. Also while we waited for class they served us a glass of wine and Bruschetta. Thank you very much for such a great time!!

We loved having a hands-on activity that the whole family could enjoy together! It was a nice change of pace from museums and tours. We learned a lot about dough and how to make good pizza when we return home too. Eating the pizza afterwards, together, was a wonderful conclusion to the activity and we thought it was the best pizza we ate during our time in Italy.

Although we had a great time during our pizza making experience we were a bit disappointed with our treatment upon arrival - since the chef who runs the class only rents space from the restaurant where the event was hosted there was a difference in treatment during our experience. Upon arrival the waiter did splash alcohol into our young daughter's eye - who happened to be wearing contacts - she was soaked and had to be rushed to the bathroom to try and remove the contacts. Unfortunately, the wait staff were not at all helpful and ignored us through the entire experience - once our cooking class was finished - so unfortunately the experience did not start off well. Although this was an accident it was the way in which it was handled that was disappointed. On a positive note -Hassan was a great host for our experience! We truly enjoyed our pizza and learned quite a bit. It was the best pizza we had in Rome! Hassan, the chef was fantastic and very pleasant.
