Discover the Domus Aurea in Rome, Emperor Nero's famous golden house, on a guided tour integrated with an Oculus Virtual Reality experience. Immerse yourself in the room of the Golden Vault as it must have appeared in Nero's time. Take a step back in time with a visit to the Domus Aurea, which deserves special recognition for its decorative apparatus – one of the most interesting examples of Roman painting. See famous rooms including the Octagonal Hall, the Cryptoporticus, and the Hall of Birds. Learn about the history behind the archaeological complex and Nero's desire to unite palatine homes with the large Esquiline gardens combined with that of creating a large dynastic residence as large as the Hellenistic palaces which contained an entire court and some productive activities.
