After a short urban ride, arrive at the Ancient Appian Way and pass ancient tombs and the ruins of an Imperial Palace. Along the way, your guide will point out interesting historical facts about each monument.

Head underground to the Catacombs of S. Callisto (or S. Sebastiano) and uncover the haunting history within. Roam the ancient corridors and visit the Crypt of the Popes.

This is an excellent tour, the bikes are easy to use and make the hills so easy in the heat, our tour guide was so helpful and knowledgeable, the stops at all the different sites was great and broke the cycling well. It’s amazing cycling up the Apia antica, some of the other participants found the city cycling a little of putting in the traffic but I was comfortable at all times, you just have to be aware. Pizza for lunch was excellent sat in the park overlooking the aqueduct. I did this tour on my own, and felt totally comfortable. Easy to find. Would highly recommend.

Allesandro was a fantastic guide. He protected us from traffic and had our safety utmost in his mind. He made sure that no one was left behind. His knowledge of the sites and of history was well communicated! The pictures he brought were very helpful in his explanations and stories concerning the Apian Way and the Aqueducts. He led us on a fabulous bike ride which was fun and just the right amount of challenge. We loved the place he chose to take us for lunch and we had a delicious homemade lasagna. I will be sure to recommend Allesandro and this tour to anyone coming to Rome. In fact, I already made that recommendation to a passenger on a day trip to Pompeii yesterday!

I have been on several tours and participated in several planned activities with my friends on this trip to Italy (a gondola ride in Venice, a Murano glass demonstration, a wine tasting in a Tuscan vineyard, Pitti Palace, the climb of Il Duomo in Florence, Vatican, Colosseum, etc.) but this tour was the BEST “la più bella” of all those activities. Our tour guide Caterina was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The staff at the shop was kind and approachable. I definitely recommend this for anyone who wants to see Rome from a different view. This is my third trip to Rome but today I saw things I’ve never seen before and with local insight (from Caterina) that put it in perspective. This is good for families too. I was with my 14-year-old godchild and there were two other kids around her age too.
