Full description

Taste the history of Rome as you try some of the most legendary street food bites in the Jewish Quarter and Centro Storico. Eat street food like a Roman, and learn why simple and fresh really is best. To finish, make your own pizza in a real Roman pizzeria, paried with plenty of Italian wine.

Your experience begins in the old Jewish Quarter, one of Rome’s best neighborhoods for foodies. First, you’ll sample the famous Jewish-style fried artichokes, which you’ll eat standing up in the traditional way.

Then, you’ll head to a local bakery to sample an unexpected and delicious treat that represents the Jewish Quarter’s rich cultural heritage. After that, head into the historic center (Centro Storico) and pick up your next street food bite: freshly fried codfish from a beloved local hole-in-the-wall.

Enjoy it with a beer of your choice from an excellent local beer shop nearby, where the owner will provide personalized suggestions based on your preferences. From there, you’ll head to a local pizzeria where you’ll get hands-on with Italian cuisine.

Now, it’s time to make your own pizza. The dough has been rising all morning, so you’ll roll it out yourself and add your choice of toppings. Then, pop it into the oven and before you know it, it’ll be time to enjoy your creation.

Sit down and dig into your pizza, while washing it down with lots of Italian wine. Finally, your afternoon will finish with a cup or cone of gelato from one of the best gelaterias in the neighborhood, where you'll learn how to spot the difference between good and low-quality gelato.

My first Get Your Guide Tour and it was wonderful! We are great food, got to make our own pizza and overall had a great time. Our tour guide was super friendly, knowledgeable and you could tell they were passionate about what they were sharing with us. Will definitely be using this again to find other tours in the future!

This was one of our favorite activities in Rome!

This was a great way to experience Rome! We walked through the Jewish Ghetto and were able to try several cheeses, meats, and other Italian favorites. Our Tour guide was fun and very interesting. The tour was also away from many of the crowded places so it was a nice change of pace. Be prepared to eat quite a bit!! At first it didn't seem like a lot but, by the end, I couldn't finish half of the pizza I made.

Come hungry. You eat a lot and walk fast. Tour is best for adults because of the fast pace and kinds of foods.
