What to Expect
This 3-hour walking tour of the Eternal City starts in Piazza di Spagna, one of Rome’s most widely known places, where you can see the theatrical Spanish Steps of Trinità dei Monti, and Bernini’s Barcaccia Fountain.

Piazza di Spagna has represented the center of the cultural and artistic life of the city for centuries, and today it is a meeting place for both Romans and tourists alike, thanks to its position at the heart of Rome’s main shopping area. It has also been used in several movies, such as “Roman Holiday,” and is a popular location for important fashion shows.

Continuing through the typically narrow streets, arrive at the magnificent Trevi Fountain, also known for the popular tradition of throwing a coin into the water to ensure you come back to the Eternal City.

The next stop is the Piazza della Rotonda, commonly called Pantheon Square, which houses the Pantheon, one of the most impressive and prestigious monuments of Imperial Rome. It now contains the tombs of Raphael and the first 2 kings of Italy. Michelangelo himself considered it a work of art created by angels and not by men.

The tour ends in Piazza Navona, with its stately palaces and churches and 3 splendid fountains, of which the Fountain of the 4 Rivers in the center is one of Bernini’s most famous works. In the past the square was animated by markets, feasts, and processions, and you will find stalls, character, and street artists to this day, especially at Christmas time.
