Giuseppe was a wonderful guide. He had some good jokes, was very kind and personable. He definitely made sure everyone understood him and answered everyone’s questions. He made the trip interesting with his knowledge and perspective. I would definitely recommend him and this tour. Got back in enough time to have a nice dinner and walk around Rome on our last night there.

I was amazed at the size of Villa Hadrian- really a private city. The fountains at Villa d’Este are without doubt the most amazing and beautiful engineering feat. Our guide Giuseppe was local and very knowledgeable about the history and significance of everything we saw. It rained pretty much all day and no one in our group complained- the experience was totally worth it. Our host also helped us dry out at the included lunch.

We really enjoyed our tours of both Hadrian's Villa and Villa d'Este - both beautiful historical locations! Our guide was fantastic, with so much knowledge on the history of both places. The information given was interesting and easy to follow and we felt that we learnt plenty. The only reason this isn't a 5-star rating is because of the lunch - unfortunately, this really let things down. The food was really disappointing, served in a very dark restaurant (it was a lovely day outside and we would have loved to have been sat out enjoying it while we ate). There was ample food (too much, in fact) but the choices were limited and it was actually the worst food we ate on our week in Italy - such a shame because the tour was so good!
