Full description

Take a unique Colosseum tour with Arena floor access, a comprehensive tour that includes the central floor of the Colosseum, plus Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum – all with premium skip-the-line access.

Enter the arena where all the juicy action happened, and learn how on a big day of festivities, this 87x55m patch of dust was the beating heart of Ancient Rome. Close your eyes whilst standing in the center and picture the cheers and the drama of the time of the gladiators.

Move on to the next stop, Palatine Hill, after a 30-minute break. See the grassy peak of Palatine hill, upon which Romulus is said to have founded the city of Rome almost 3000 years ago.

Explore the place that the Roman Emperors chose as the spot for some of the finest and most spectacular palaces the ancient world ever saw.

Explore the Roman Forum, centuries ahead of the rest of the world in terms of its cultural significance, this teeming hub of philosophers, scientists, lawmakers, Pontiffs, and commoners was the brains behind Ancient Rome.

Wrap up the tour in the forum, roam freely through the Forum or head off for some local food and drink, and the guide will be happy to offer recommendations.

This tour was amazing. Alessandro (I think this is correct) was a gem. He was brilliant and interesting and got us all the best spots for pictures and views. He let us take our time and our 2-3 hour tour turned into about 3 and a half hours and he did not even mind. His stories were interesting and funny and not to be found in any history book! I would HIGHLY recommend this tour. They were so organized and everything was simple and easy. It was a highlight of my trip. I will never forget it. Thank you so much Alessandro!

This guided tour was just right! Lots of time in the coliseum—entering through one gladiator’s gate and out the other, going up to the next levels and looking back at the entire coliseum—it was fabulous and everyone in my party agreed. There were some stairs which would deter someone with accessibility issues. The rest of the tour was a walk through the gardens on Palentine Hill and the rest of the archeological site. I chose this Carpe Diem tour primarily because we met at the Constantine Arch and not in a place I would have to look for in the metro station. We went in the afternoon in December and it was nice walking weather. The guide was a PhD archeologist and she made the whole place even more fascinating with her insights.

Our tour was excellent and we loved our operator. Ivana Manchini was our guide and she was fantastic. Especially good for our three children. I’m not sure they would have enjoyed these sites without the tour and they all love talking about the tour. Our kids are 11, 10, and 8. So happy we booked the tour.
